Portuguese Water Dogs benefit from being outdoors, having a fenced yard is suggested but with enough time outdoors they will be comfortable in an apartment setting. 

Daily excersise is vital, 30-60 minutes is an ideal time to have outside with your pup. They are active breeds but also love to rest. 

Training your dog the basics with positive reinforcement is necessary. Do research on how to train this breed or engage in training courses with your pup. Not only will this result in an obedient dog but will also stimulate their minds, give them challenges and allow them to bond with you. 

Showing your pup love whenever and wherever you can is apart of being a dog owner and is necessary for the health of your pup.
